How to connect and log in to Ctrl-C.club

At Ctrl-C.club, we offer free shell accounts. It is an ordinary Linux server that you can log in to directly, and the interface is purely textual. As in days of old, the keyboard is your only input device!

We log in to Ctrl-C.club over a protocol called SSH (Secure SHell) [1].

To connect, you'll need SSH client software. OS X and Linux have SSH clients built in, but if you're using Windows, you'll probably need to download a client like Putty [2].

If it's your first time logging in, you'll want to change your password using the passwd command.

Once you're logged in, you'll have full access to the Linux command-line! There is a learning curve to using the command-line, and it can take some time to learn the power and flexibility available there. I hope you'll take the time to learn, and have fun!
