[15:00:28] <felix> And large enough to need organizing, too.

[15:02:51] <timemachine> I also have a felt & tarrant COMPTOMETER; look them up for an intresting read on the history of computing/calculating.

[15:10:09] <felix> I've read about them as part of the history of calculating machines, but not in detail.
[15:16:41] <timemachine> I also have a stenotype machine which is strange and magical. I need repair (oiled and cleaned) but its corded keypress linkages are too mysterious for me to take apart with out a manual.

[15:42:54] <felix> It's fascinating how they kept finding ways to improve the mechanism right until these machines became electronic.
[15:43:37] <felix> And then they still used the same kind of keyboard because it wasn't just an expedient to make a mechanism workable.

[20:53:05] <michel> the last I saw has a groove meant to hold a tablet, which is cute
[22:59:27] <wholesomedonut> I saw that one too. Looked cool but it was way overpriced. I could hot-glue some typewriter keycaps onto a mechanical bluetooth keyboard instead of paying $250 for it.. :P
