[13:01:22] <lovetocode999> How are you?
[13:01:46] <fleg> feeling a bit under the weather, but it doesn't seem like anything that a bit of ibuprofen wouldn't fix
[13:02:42] <lovetocode999> Oh, that is unfortunate. Hope you feel better soon!
[13:02:56] <fleg> thanks!
[13:04:13] <lovetocode999> You are welcome!

[15:16:48] <lovetocode999> felix: How are you?
[15:17:11] <felix> Hello!
[15:17:17] <felix> Inspired, and you?
[15:18:54] <lovetocode999> I am doing great!
[15:19:24] <lovetocode999> What have you been inspired by?
[15:20:43] <felix> What little I know about ships and sailing.
[15:22:02] <lovetocode999> I see! I know nothing about either ;)
[15:24:38] <felix> Almost all I know comes from books.
[15:25:31] <felix> Luckily I have friends who actually used to sail. On sailboats.
[15:26:13] <felix> Very useful when you're writing a story about sailors.
[15:27:38] <lovetocode999> Ok! Are you going to publish your story when you are done with it?
[15:28:13] <felix> Sure, but under a pen name.
[15:28:52] <lovetocode999> What is your pen name?
[15:31:16] <felix> There's a reason why I use a pen name. ;)
[15:32:36] <lovetocode999> Ok

[16:49:46] <felix> Hello!
[16:50:59] <jlj> Hey! Meant to say, I picked up a copy of Vryheid. Work is manic at the mo, so even my reading is non-fiction/tech, but looking forward to picking it up at some point.
[16:51:27] <felix> Thank you very much! Figured that was you.
[16:51:33] <jlj> :-D
[16:53:30] <felix> I'd love to hear what you think.
[16:55:02] <jlj> Yeah, as I say, it might be a while, but I'll happily feed back. It's cool that you had some beta readers to help you (from what I read in the Acknowledgements).
[16:55:29] <felix> So I did!
[16:55:38] <felix> Friends are awesome.

[18:41:49] <lovetocode999> I would agree. Friends are amazing!
[18:42:39] <felix> We help each other with our books.
[18:42:57] <lovetocode999> That's cool!
[18:44:30] <felix> So it is!
[18:46:16] <felix> Vryheid was saved by a friend, when I got stuck writing it.
[18:48:22] <lovetocode999> How was it saved?
[18:50:43] <felix> She pointed out what was going on between two characters. I hadn't noticed.
[18:51:05] <felix> That gave me a guiding line for the last part.
[19:01:44] <lovetocode999> Ok!
[19:01:54] <lovetocode999> What is Vryheid about?
[19:03:22] <felix> It's about people looking for each other in a strange city on a distant planet from the future.
[19:03:46] <felix> There's a city by the same name in the real world, in South Africa, but it has no connection.
[19:09:05] <lovetocode999> Ok!
[19:09:40] <felix> What do you like to read?
[19:11:46] <lovetocode999> Many things! I think fantasy is probably my favorite genre
[19:12:06] <lovetocode999> My favorite series is the Mysterious Benedict Society series
[19:12:13] <felix> Oh right, you told me!
[19:12:30] <lovetocode999> Yes, I believe I did! :D
[19:12:35] <lovetocode999> What about you?
[19:13:20] <felix> Also all kinds. Can't say I have a favorite book or series.
[19:13:59] <lovetocode999> I see! Do you have a favorite genre, though?
[19:14:57] <felix> Mostly speculative fiction.
[19:15:34] <felix> And interactive fiction.
[19:16:16] <lovetocode999> Interesting!
[19:21:51] <felix> Tabletop RPGs, too.
[19:22:50] <felix> Anyway, see you!

[20:45:26] <jlj> I miss playing tabletop RPGs. Moved too many times; left all my groups behind. That, and I got old. :-P
[20:45:52] <jlj> I didn't Vryheid was a real city! Neat!
[20:46:46] <fleg> I need to play a tabletop rpg some time. Always when we start playing it we immediately get distracted
[20:55:54] <jlj> That sounds fun too. :-) The best group I ever had was... Not serious... Not committed... I don't know how to describe it, really. I mean, it was White Wolf focussed, which is storytelling first. And our Storyteller (their version of a DM) was absolutely fantastic. They really put the work in, so the actual sessions were seamless, and so much fun.
[20:57:48] <jlj> I was also part of the Alpha Omega alpha-then-beta test group; mates of mine took a year off to develop it. Really cool to be on the ground floor of that, although that group was definitely sillier.
[20:58:28] <jlj> Oh, my daughter's crying...
[21:12:53] <jlj> Poorly, bless 'er. Tough, building an immune system. :-P
