[14:55:49] <jlj> I bet the one you've used successfully is newer; I'm running 2.17 at home right now.

[14:57:25] <jlj> There are problems with earlier versions of TLS, so, when running a service, you can usually specify a minimum version to accept, to avoid vulnerable connections.
[14:57:45] <jlj> I wonder whether, out of the box, your git service is binning such a connection from here.

[15:02:23] <jlj> As is suggested there, might be easier to simple add an SSH key to your account and do it over that protocol instead. There's instructions on how to do that further down the page (and in lots of other places).

[15:16:02] <jlj> Oh, got distracted. Still need coffee. But, no, I don't think so. If you look at the last post on that page, it looks like a build of git with the proper OpenSSL version should work fine. Note that our version of OpenSSL is OpenSSL 1.0.1f 6 Jan 2014.
[15:16:53] <jlj> I guess you could copy over your own build of git, to your ctrl-c account.
[15:17:11] <jlj> Don't know whether that violates at T&Cs. Probably not.

[15:35:19] <jlj> Actually, that probably still won't work, thinking about it, 'cause you'll still call on ctrl-c's OpenSSL libraries, which are the source of the problem. You'd need to run a separate environment, in a container or something, which I know would violate the T&Cs here.
