Plans are good, but alone are moribund. Energy reserved for unplanned things makes life fun. Too few plans and life is flimsy. Plans bring structure, surprises bring life's secrets. We don't know how much we don't know until we are surprised! We must structure our lives to enough stability to be happy for the surprises! Without surprise, society is sociopathy. Without planning, society is aimless.
