I also got PGP 2.3A (the "munition" version) compiled.
Patch is here. The documentation is a must-read, even if you already undestand public key crypto,
full of 'Alice & Bob' references as you would expect. It'll also tell you where to put the compiled files.
I've also made a PKGBUILD. I'll make a repo eventually and upload it there.

Happy new year! I haven't worked on this site in a while, but I do want to upload
some patches I've made so old (early 90s) software will compile on linux.
First is WorldWideWeb.
The patch is for the files at cd.textfiles.com
(I've saved the URL on archive.org so go there if it 404s in the future)
These were the oldest versions I could find, although a 2.02 beta of the daemon was online at some point.
Dowload the Library, LineMode (the browser itself!) and the Daemon into a folder, run tar xvf on each file & you'll have a WWW folder.
Run patch -p0 < www.patch (or -p1 if inside the WWW directory), cd into WWW, and run either make or ./BUILD
You'll find a www executable in LineMode/unix. It's static, so copy it whereever you like. Note: it doesn't send a Host: header so websites like info.cern.ch won't work
So much for historical accuracy... ctrl-c.club will work :) For https, just wget the page and use file://

Looks like coinsh.red is down, unfortunately.
This month I might actually do something with the graphics here! Either make this site
super minimal, light-themed, or draw something to complement the site as it is.
I also watched a pentesting video that really made
me realize how dangerous just one short/common/weak password can be. UNIX is inherently
multi-user, so carelessness re you own account can bring down an entire system.

I discovered a neat little service today called coinsh.red
It's a privacy-minded image/file hoster that is javascript and ad free and has a ~ like style.
An alternative if you don't want to link your files directly.
Works with Netscape, of course!

I didn't expect it to take me this long to write an update. Hopefully I'll have time in May to play with the design of this thing and make it a bit lighter.
I also now have a PGP 2.3A key.

I just realized that using 'cellspacing' instead of 'cellpadding makes Netscape 4.x forget the width of the table. Oh well.
Listened to Scott Walker's 'Scott 3' today; not sure just what to make of it. I thought it was somewhere in between Sinatra and the Moody Blues.

No updates for more than a month! I nearly forgot about this site completely.
I'm now happily settled in, and slowly learning to use Python 3 and Solidworks.
Hopefully I'll have some time at some point to do more 00s style designs in PS5.5.
Links to cool stuff:
sowmiles' profile, a list of tutorials from the time, and
an original tut site!

Looks like that cgi idea is a no-no. I'll have to continue this as a raw html blog for now.
~neo @ 2019/9/22
Mere days left before uni! I got two new toys: First is Homesite+ 5.5, a fully manual html editor, which I found after searching for "DreamweaverMX2004-en" in g.
It's the lasivian one (cool name btw.)
I also got the endopod news script
so I won't have to create entries locally and then reupload. cgi files have always been a mystery to me, so I guess it's time to learn something new.
Oh, and that non-matching sidebar needs to be changed. I'll do that shortly.

So I decided to start learning photoshop and writing down my thoughts here.
I replaced that awful pixel art header with this pipe design after trying to figure out how to nudge pixels for several hours in PS5.5
I'm interested in learning more about creating realistic metal textures in PS, and have found a couple of websites and indexes with tutorials on various designs.
I'll attach them to Bookmarks, and hopefully make that a proper page, rather that a ff bookmark export that it currently is.
