Pinky Promise — Snail’s House

Probably the best example of Snail’s House’s maximalism
I love the sheer throughput of musical events without losing definition

• breakbeat,
• rolled kicks,
• big sawtooth chords,
• that high arpeggio thing,
• background vocal samples,
• glitchy bass & plinky sounds,
• some synthesizer that sounds like ad lib background vocals,

Any of these things could be the whole thing for a section, in a more sane composition
It’s overwhelming in the best way

Also has a great chopped vocal line,
accompanied by a synthesizer that sounds like vocal ad libs,
and then this clean synthesizer line with a really delightful interaction with the percussion,
and then a third synthesizer voice counterpointing with the ad lib synth
(honorable mention to the detuned comedy flute, lol)

Also a great example of ear saturation
