Hey Dustin! I'm Parker from Toronto. I came across your site this week. It is so plain, simple, and welcoming. Your footer has a line inviting people to chat by e-mail, and so here we are. Your books page is awesome. When I was a teenager, I worked at a used book store and got deeply in to books. These days, I tend to get everything from the public library. If I see a neat book recommendation, I put a hold on it through the public library and it'll show up eventually at my local branch. Do you use the library much? From your to-read list, one book caught my eye. I checked and my library had "Raising Outdoor Kids in an Indoor World" by Steve Rinella. I'm excited to check it out. Parenting is a big part of my life. I have two daughters Mira (three years) and Mabel (three months). As often as possible, I try to take them for walks outside, no matter what the weather is like. We are fortunate in that we live at the edge of Toronto and there is a lot of nature around us. A favourite adventure is to go and roast plantains in a fire pit at a public park. What do you do outdoors with your kid(s)? Another way that I like to connect with nature is observing the sky. Clouds, stars, birds, the sun. You have several pages about witchcraft. I don't know if you follow the solstices / equinoxes much, but I wish you a (belated) happy equinox or Mabon. I celebrated by putting together a timelapse of the view out my office window. You can find it here: https://pgadey.ca/webcam/ I think that your policy of intentional technology use is really admirable. It is nice to see people advocate for e-mail, RSS, simpler means of communication and connection. Thanks for the invitation to connect by email. I hope this e-mail finds you and your family well.
