Busy week for me

It’s been a busy but fun week for me, and that’s made it harder than normal to put out posts. Right now, I think it’s more important that I get to bed earlier and get some sleep than to try and get something written last-minute. But maybe I’ll just dash out some thoughts quick and add an image later.

During the 100-day challenge, I made sure to write at least 100 words each day without exception, as it was really important to me to be able to say I did the whole challenge. But right now, I have no obligation to write posts; I just want to start doing it again.

Despite wanting to do it, it’s easy for me to put off writing on a day to day basis. I get busy or distracted, and then it’s late and I’d rather go to bed. So with that in mind, it’s helpful to have at least some kind of “rule” in place to keep me committed to something I know want to keep doing.

But at this point in my life, perhaps the rule should be different than “every weekday, without exception, 100 words”. I like having a relatively consistent hour in the evening to write; perhaps I should plan to write on any day I have a spare hour in the evening.

For now, I think I’ll try and keep up with “every weekday” to the best of my ability, because I think the daily effort gives me more momentum. But it’s something I could experiment with if life gets more busy.
