[16:15:52] <gavodavo> \o
[16:19:12] <felix> How are you?
[17:03:37] <gavodavo> Good, although a bit busy
[17:07:18] <felix> Oh, all right!
[17:34:43] <gavodavo> Hby?
[17:44:19] -!- anton [anton!anton@antonmcclure.com] has joined #ctrl-c
[17:48:50] <felix> Not bad today! Hi there!
[18:31:26] <lovetocode999> Hello
[18:32:44] * felix waves some more!
[18:39:19] -!- robertp [robertp!~robert@64.227.99.235] has joined #ctrl-c
[18:44:41] <felix> Hey, hey.
[18:45:11] <lovetocode999> How are you?
[18:47:24] <felix> Getting tired. You?
[18:50:31] <lovetocode999> I am good!
[18:51:06] <lovetocode999> I reinstalled my Arch system to try ZFS as my root filesystem this past weekend, which was fun
[18:51:53] <felix> :D
[18:52:15] <lovetocode999> What did you do with your weekend?
[18:52:54] <felix> Got into Org Mode again, by way of Orgzly.
[18:53:03] <lovetocode999> Nice!
[18:53:08] <felix> And today I recovered an old unfinished essay about stories in games.
[18:53:18] <lovetocode999> Oh, cool!
[18:54:06] <lovetocode999> I like Org Mode, Org is a great markup language
[18:55:03] <felix> It is! I looked into it before, but gave up because reasons.
[18:55:14] <lovetocode999> Emacs? Or other reasons?
[18:55:48] <felix> No no, bunch of other stuff.
[18:55:54] <lovetocode999> Ok
[18:56:07] <felix> I don't use Emacs anyway, on the desktop I just treat them like plain text files.
[18:56:21] <lovetocode999> Ok, makes sense
[18:57:01] <lovetocode999> Does Orgzly have any way of syncing with a desktop?
[18:59:59] <felix> It imports and exports .org files?
[19:00:13] <felix> Also supports WebDAV servers.
[19:00:18] <lovetocode999> Cool
[19:00:34] <lovetocode999> I think I might try Orgzly
[19:02:07] <lovetocode999> While we are on the subject of Org Mode, what is your opinion of Emacs?
[19:03:30] <slipyx> its a good OS, could use a better text editor though
[19:03:36] <lovetocode999> Lol
[19:03:44] <lovetocode999> Just use Evil ;)
[19:04:36] <felix> I used it for a while, many years ago, but got fed up with having to remember so many keystrokes that are completely different from any other text editor.
[19:08:02] <lovetocode999> Okay. I like Emacs when it has Evil, but the one thing that has kept me from using it regularly is the lack of a good replacement for coc.nvim
[19:08:16] <lovetocode999> My editor of choice is Neovim
[19:08:23] <felix> I see!
[19:08:36] <lovetocode999> What is your favorite editor?
[19:08:41] <slipyx> thats what i use on chromeos
[19:08:59] <lovetocode999> slipyx: Neovim?
[19:09:04] <slipyx> yea
[19:09:26] <slipyx> the appimage just works, and its miles better than the vi that comes stock
[19:09:27] <Sario|IRCCloud> xkcd.com/378
[19:09:55] <lovetocode999> Sario|IRCCloud: YES xD
[19:10:13] <lovetocode999> That is one of my favorite xkcd's
[19:10:28] <Sario|IRCCloud> I literally just hit that comic from random, right as I was reading the log
[19:10:34] <felix> I just use Geany.
[19:10:46] <felix> Or in the console, Micro.
[19:10:51] <lovetocode999> Sario|IRCCloud: Lol, that is amazing
[19:11:12] <lovetocode999> felix: Nice!
[19:11:21] <lovetocode999> I don't have much experience with either
[19:11:35] <Sario|IRCCloud> I keep telling myself I'm going to learn emacs, but in the meantime I just use nano
[19:11:50] <felix> :D
[19:12:07] <lovetocode999> I have a better suggestion: Learn Vim, then use Evil ;)
[19:12:32] <Sario|IRCCloud> Yes, but I want Org Mode
[19:13:35] <lovetocode999> https://github.com
[19:15:15] <felix> There used to be a port of Org Mode to Vim.
[19:17:45] <lovetocode999> There is https://github.com but the repo's owner stopped maintaining it a few months ago
[19:18:32] <lovetocode999> The last commit that changed any of the code was in July
[19:19:13] <felix> That's not so far back, maybe they're taking a break.
[19:19:46] <felix> Oh. Desc says otherwise. Fair enough.
[19:21:09] <Sario> That is the downside of open source.
[19:22:51] <felix> Yeah. We need more software supporting the format anyway.
[19:23:09] <lovetocode999> And the upside to open source is, you can still continue to use it after it becomes unmaintained, and you can even fork it and start maintaining it yourself
[19:23:13] <lovetocode999> Yes, yes we do
[19:23:17] <felix> I wrote a folding viewer for it a few years ago, but some toxic people yelled at me and I abandoned.
[19:23:25] <lovetocode999> Oof
[19:23:39] <lovetocode999> Do you still have the code somewhere?
[19:24:02] <felix> Sure. Might just pick it up again.
[19:24:35] <lovetocode999> That would be great! Tis always unfortunate when a community is toxic
[19:25:45] <Sario> That's why I want to get into DevRel, to prevent/correct toxic communities
[19:25:56] <felix> :)
[19:26:05] <lovetocode999> I don't believe I've heard of DevRel... What is it?
[19:26:20] <felix> Anyway, see you!
[19:26:38] <Sario> Developer Relations
[19:26:51] <lovetocode999> Oh, I see
[19:27:19] <Sario> Basically community managers
[19:27:28] <lovetocode999> Sounds like a good thing, the less toxic communities, the better!
[19:27:48] <felix> This!
[19:27:53] -!- felix has quit [Client exited]
[19:47:23] <robertp> i think it was in this channel that someone recommended that #team and #meta were more active. i checked them out and yikes, yes, extremely active. this channel seems more my speed :)
[19:47:56] <Sario> lol, yeah the big channels can get overwhelming
[19:48:36] <robertp> like, i want to chat here and there while i'm waiting for something to finish building, etc. but keeping up with those channels is like a day job itself
[19:48:58] <robertp> super cool that irc is still that active here and there!
[19:49:44] <Sario> Yeah, you either got to watch constantly, or give up on keeping up
