Old Computer Challenge 2024 Goals

I'm typing this on my ipad in the iSH terminal emulator, running Vim in Alpine Linux. I am away from home and this and my phone are my only computing devices. This keyboard isnt ideal but it's fine for now.

My goals for this week:

• use the command line for most things

• use only my ipad with ish and maybe the chip computer when i get home later this week

• keep making my forth language and build out more functionality. I'd like to add simple graphics capabilities, but not sure if that's TUI, ascii output, or a drawing API with SDL yet. So I think I'll try out a little of each approach and see how they feel.

• stretch goals: make a simple zine (idea borrowed from steve lord)

• stretch goals: build simple zine making software, ideally using my forth

Today I set up my ipad environment a bit. I downloaded offpunk and links and w3m. I added a few more packages. I tried out the 3 browsers and founds links the fastest and easiest for me to navigate.

I read the news, some blog posts, read other folks' blogs about their goals or ideas for the old laptop challenge. I did all of this on those 3 browsers. Then I read some articles on Forth. Then I opened vim and here I am writing.
