These are textdumps from  the HTML versions of the free  books released on the
Baen free promotional CDs. As noted on the original CDs:

    "NOTICE: This disk and its contents may be copied and shared but NOT
    sold. All Commercial Rights Reserved"

Whatever I'm  not actively reading  is gzipped to be  kind to my  hosts's disk
space. If you have a proper text-mode browser, you should be able to read them
anyway.
