[2026-02-09T20:05:44Z] <midfavila> kris_: the benefit of functional programming techniques are that it a) allows for significantly higher levels of abstraction, b) much more consistent behaviour (since there can be no side effects - this also neatly sidesteps the issue of memory allocation), c) treating functions as first-class citizens allows for very, very easy code reuse, which makes programming much faster
