[22:54:57] <nristen> with vim, don't forget the command, "<Esc> :q!" it will allow you to exit out.
[22:57:26] <nristen> I tried to use vim several times a long, long time ago. After about 3 attempts over a several year period, I decided to get serious and really learn how to use it. The best way to learn is to practice. I rarely use any other kind of editor now.
[22:59:09] <calamitous> Same here. I used to give a talk on vim. The basic rundown is: Commit to using vim exclusively for about 2 weeks. Print out a list of common commands. Accept that the next 2 weeks are going to suck.
[22:59:30] <calamitous> After that, you'll probably never (voluntarily) use any other editor.
