CHME420 Applied Transport Phenomena

Catalog information

  • Prerequisites: CHME-300, MATH-204 or MATH-204
  • Corequisites: CHME-421
  • Credit hours: 4 contact, 4 credit
  • Terms offered: Winter,Spring
  • Description: This advanced chemical engineering course will focus heavily on mathematical interpretations of the principles of heat and mass transfer, steady and transient conduction and diffusion, and radiative heat transfer. Convective transport of heat and mass in both laminar and turbulent flows will also be discussed. The course also provides an emphasis on the development of the physical understanding of the underlying phenomena and on the ability to solve real heat and mass transfer problems of engineering significance.
